Reconnecting With Your True Self

A fellow student of coaching and friend of mine recently shared this wonderful passage with me over a very powerful conversation. As we spoke about our ambitions and future goals, we shared with one another the obstacles, fears, and doubts we had around achieving true happiness and authenticity in our lives. Our Deepest Fear emerged in our conversation as the two of  us came to the powerful realization that our desired paths have already been laid before us. While we may have been doubtful of our inner power and potential for happiness, we found through our conversation that our limiting thoughts had only served as a distraction from what was really true of our lives. Throughout our conversation we battled with our fears and allowed our inner voice to emerge. As we listened to our inner voice and acknowledged the wisdom we have so long been silencing, we were both transformed through the process. Together we acknowledged for one another that power, potential and limitless possibilities already existed within us. Through our conversation we allowed the words of this passage to come forth and aid us to reconnect with our true selves. We shed those limiting thoughts that for so long have loomed over our heads and permitted true transformation to occur.

Written by Marrianne Williamson, this passage from her book Return to Love resonated with me in such a wonderful way that I had to share the experience with my readers. This passage evokes power and awakens ones inner voice to shine through and be heard. Please take some time to read this passage and allow for its words to sit with you for a while. What is it that stops us from being and doing what we really want? What is your deepest fear?

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

Honor your inner power and embrace the strengths and natural talents you already possess. It is only when we allow our innate power to emerge that we permit ourselves to be vulnerable to failure. “There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.” Paulo Coelho. When we embody our power and release ourselves from the grips of fear, we allow for a great many things to happen. Not only will we see transformation within our selves but we will help to transform the world in ways we never would have imagined.

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

Allow your inner light to shine through. Watch as the beacon that emerges from your very soul guides you to a place of possibility and wonder. Trust in this light and allow its warmth to cradle and protect you. Allow it to guide you on the path you never knew existed. Fear not the light for it comes only with good intentions. We are each gifted in a unique and important way. The journey to uncovering our inner light should not be paved on of path of fear, but with childish enthusiasm and curiosity.“People are like stained-glass windows.  They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within.” Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?

Embrace who you are! You are unique and gifted in ways that no one else can compare. No two people are the same for good reason.  We are all here to impact one another with our love and with our individual talents and abilities. Why be afraid to cultivate what you were brought on this earth to share with the rest of humanity? Shield not what is true and brilliant! Embody those gifts and talents you were born with to do something positive. You are beautiful and worthy of not only self-love, but of receiving the love and adoration of others. Allow your walls to come down and let others see you for who you really are. “The more love we have for ourselves, the more we can love others” Valquiria Oliveira

You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do.

Never diminish yourself for the sake of others. When we can reconnect with the person we know is our true and authentic self, we can acknowledge and accept all aspects of ourselves that are unique and powerful.  There is no need to shelter those around you from the beauty and power you came to this world to share?  Be proud of who you are and take a stand to embody all the innate talents and abilities you know are true and meaningful. Those who become insecure in your presence feel your power, and are intimidated by it. While they may attempt to make you feel as though this is your problem to fix, the issue lies within them. You are a work of art and you deserve to showcase the magnificence that is you.  Regardless of your flaws, insecurities, or doubts never dim your wonderful light for others. When you love the person you are then those who matter will love you in return. “There is a magnificent, beautiful, wonderful painting in front of you! It is intricate, detailed, a painstaking labor of devotion and love! The colors are like no other, they swim and leap, they trickle and embellish! And yet you choose to fixate your eyes on the small fly which has landed on it! Why do you do such a thing?” C. JoyBell C.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.

See power and potential in everyone around you. Within everyone there is the power to be extraordinary. When you reconnect with your true self it is here that you fully embrace your inner power to achieve those things you felt  were missing in your life. Allow for the inner stirring to emerge and watch as you are transformed by acknowledging what is. We can all call upon our power at any point in time. Call upon your power and inspire those around you to find the power within themselves. “All power is within you; you can do anything and everything. Believe in that, do not believe that you are weak; do not believe that you are half-crazy lunatics, as most of us do nowadays. You can do anything and everything, without even the guidance of anyone. Stand up and express the divinity within you.” Swami Vivekananda

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Allow your power to shine through in your everyday expressions. Watch as your everyday actions bring you closer to your truth. Slowly but surely your actions will begin to motivate those around you to awaken their own inner power and transform their lives in extraordinary ways.  Let your deepest fears serve as a motivator for change. It’s time you let your light shine through by silencing those limiting thoughts that keep you stuck in a place filled with oppressed dreams and unfulfilled desires. Become one with the best version of you and inspire others to do the same. “A thinker sees his own actions as experiments and questions–as attempts to find out something. Success and failure are for him answers above all.” Friedrich Nietzsche

“Open your eyes, look within. Are you satisfied with the life you’re living?” Bob Marley
